Last Friday I went to T H Rogers to further continue my “observation”. Initially the plan was I will participate in one of the middle school science classes, but as fate would have it, it turned out that particular class had gone out to a field trip! The secretary asked me if I would like to observe in middle school art class instead and I thought why not! I am so glad that I stepped in that art class. It was a morning filled up with fun , excitement and some introspection
Seven years back I made Houston my second home as I started my professional role as a Geophysics instructor in one of the oil and gas companies. Worldwide, Houston is known for being a big hub of oil giants and also one the largest medical centers of the world. Apart from the attractions of numerous museum and fun filled neighborhoods, the city of Houston exudes a strong cosmopolitan population. Houstonians have also put tremendous efforts to build a strong community. Recently I was introduced to the various approaches of community based education and of the various categories, I personally have a strong inclination for place based education. Place based education incorporates local traditions, heritage, ecosystem to transform learning into a fun filled environment. In this essay I would be briefly discussing about my experience at Houston Public Library.
